The building was designed to have a facade reminiscent of the early 20th century buildings in King Street, Perth. A feature being the six lines of corbels to the front elevation. The external walls were constructed of tilt up concrete panels, and the first floor with delta cored panels with a concrete topping. A particular hazard on this project was the high voltage electrical wiring less than 1500mm from the front. This hazard required careful planning with the placing of the panels and the lifting of materials.
